Student Visas - New rules from 31 March 2009
Student Visas - New rules from 31 March 2009
UK Border and Immigration Agency has introduced a new Points Based System coming into effect on 31 March 2009. Anyone applying for a student visa on or after this date will have to meet the requirements of the immigration rules and score 40 points. 30 points are gained for doing a course (at an acceptable level) with an approved education provider (also known as sponsorship), and 10 points are gained for having enough money to cover the course fees and monthly living costs (also known as maintenance or funds).
For more detailed information and guidance on applying under tier 4 of the points-based system please see http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/tier4 .
