Introduction
The Diploma in Accounting and Business is a new entry-level programme awarded by ACCA. It is part of ACCA’s Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards and aims at those who wish to work in a junior position in accounting such as bookkeeping. It also provides a solid route for progression onto the ACCA qualification.
The Diploma in Accounting and Business is equivalent to the first year of a UK bachelor degree.
Course structure
· Accounting in Business (FAB)
(FAB = F1/ACCA)
· Management Accounting (FMA)
(FMA = F2/ACCA)
· Financial Accounting (FFA)
(FFA = F3/ACCA)
· Foundations in Professionalism
The Diploma in Accounting and Business is awarded on the completion of exams in the subjects stated above.
Entry Requirements
The Diploma in Accounting and Business has no formal academic entry requirements and replaces the Mature Student Entry Route (MSER) of the ACCA qualification. It allows those who do not meet the minimum entry requirements for ACCA (i.e. 2 A Levels and 3 GCSEs or equivalent) to obtain an entry-level qualification in accounting and/or to progress onto the ACCA qualification.
Progression onto the ACCA Qualification
Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business can transfer to the ACCA qualification and will be exempt from F1, F2 and F3.
