Grafton College is equipped with many resources that you should take full advantage of whilst you are studying with us. From an interactive and constantly updated virtual learning environment to an onsite library and IT facilities.  This page will provide you with more information about the facilities we offer at the London campus and how you can make full use of them.

Grafton College has a modern and dynamic virtual learning environment or VLE for all its students called Moodle. Moodle, which stands for Modular Object–Orientated Dynamic Learning Environment, is a resource for staff and students.  On Moodle students can find centralised information about their courses and information relating assessments and exams.  Some particularly useful features of Moodle are:

  • Instant Messaging
  • Assignment Submission
  • Discussion Forum
  • Course Grading

After formal registration at the College you will be given your Moodle log on details.  When you have this you can navigate the website at your will.  The ‘My Courses’ tab will list all the courses you are studying, the ‘Student News’ tab contains general news addressing all students.  Grafton College recommends that you make maximum use of the Moodle platform in order to manage your studies and keep up to date with information in relation to your course.

At our London campus we have a study library situated on the first floor.  This library is a specialist library that stocks all the relevant course materials for the subjects taught at Grafton College. We encourage you to make the most of this resource that is available to you for free throughout your studies as it will save you money on the cost of books.  In this library there are also computer and photocopying facilities that you have access to. 

 

The EBSCO information services provides an enhanced research databases, e-books and e-journals, it offers more than 375 full-text and secondary research databases and over 550,000 e-books plus subscription management services for 360,000 e-journals, e-journal packages and print journals.

Grafton College is ideally based for optimum use of all the local amenities and is based in walking distance from three local libraries. We would encourage you to register with the local libraries as it is a great resource that you can access at no cost to yourself.

At Grafton College we have multiple computer suites that are accessible to students.  Students are able to benefit from high speed internet free of charge in the state of the art suites whilst working in a controlled and study focussed environment. There are wireless hotspot zones around the college for students to use with their own laptops or tablets and many black and white, colour and multi functioning photocopiers around the campus.

As a registered student you are entitled to a number of discounts for travel and shopping.  You can get a discount on national rail travel, as well as the London Underground and bus services. You are also entitled to register for an NUS Extra card which grants you access to extensive discounts in clothes shops, leisure and entertainment activities, subscriptions and even travel and holiday packages. Grafton College can authorise your attendance at College in order to grant you access to these discounts.
